Space Cadet Pinball was a fun. Over 1B people had this on their PCs. What all of these users didn't realize was that this game was only a demo—a small part of a full game called Full Tilt! Pinball, developed by Maxis. The full version of the game had extra levels: Space Cadet, Skullduggery, and Dragon’s Keep.
Most players never knew they could buy the full game because there wasn’t any clear way to find out about it. While Space Cadet Pinball did its job by giving people a taste of what Maxis had to offer, there was a problem in how the company tried to get users to buy the full game. The only way to learn about the full version was through a hidden “About” section in the game, which gave a phone number users could call for more information.
Can you spot how to open the About section? Can you spot the Maxis logo?
That's hilariously bad product design :O
I literally played that level 100 times or so and I never saw any CTA or had any inkling that there was more levels
